
I am a writer, editor, and educator.
I have published academic articles (in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese), journalistic pieces, literary essays, reviews, original poetry, and translations. My work has appeared in outlets including The Washington Post, Time, Inside Higher Ed, and Off Assignment. I am the translator of Pablo García’s Song from the Underworld (Achiote Press), a book of contemporary Maya poetry.
I hold a doctorate in Hispanic literature from Boston University and currently serve as the managing editor of MLN, a journal of literary scholarship.
I was a Fulbright scholar in Brazil (University of São Paulo) and a fellow at the Harry Ransom Center (UT Austin).
I have taught literature and writing courses in Spanish and in English in the U.S., Argentina, and Ecuador.
